Description of the Sí Virtual process, the Colombian State Portal:

TP 1: For the alien wishing to enter the country and his/her would be of particular importance to the Colombian state, or when the nature of that income responds to the development and enforcement of international conventions or treaties that provide for the issuance of this kind of visa.

In addition, relatives of the holder in the first degree of consanguinity or direct family members, as spouses or partners of diplomatic and consular career officials of the Republic of Colombia.

Relatives in the first degree of consanguinity of diplomatic official accredited to the country.

Student, intern-student, teacher, professional or qualified technician with the purpose of doing an internship, lecturer or language assistant, entering the national territory under an existing cooperation treaty in which Colombia is a State Party or s/he is sponsored by the Colombian Institute for Student Loans and Study Abroad "Mariano Ospina Pérez" (ICETEX); or when it is shown that s/he enters the country under programs or activities of cultural and academic exchange.

Holder of a diplomatic passport entering temporarily to the country without the intention of developing diplomatic activities.

International Jury of master's or doctoral thesis; or as a speaker, expert, case studies guest, or to strengthen research activities; or as an experienced internationally respected figure invited to develop projects and programs that promote the transfer of knowledge and new technologies in different disciplines, without any labor bond relationship.

Under the Law 1556 of July 9, 2012 "Whereby the national territory is promoted as setting for shooting films", the artistic, technical and foreign production staff aiming to produce foreign films.

 

Requirements:

  • Attach a copy of the personal data page of your current passport where the holder’s personal information is registered.
  • Submit a passport or travel document issued by an Authority or State recognized by the Colombian Government, with a validity of one hundred eighty (180) days, in good condition, with at least two (2) blank pages. Without prejudice to the provisions of treaties and current international instruments, travel documents issued by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations (UN), shall be valid and accepted by the Colombian State.
  • Copy of the passport page which was stamped during the last entry or departure of Colombia as appropriate.
  • For visas previously granted without Fast Reading Code (FRC), attach a copy of the page showing the last Colombian visa. If that visa was granted with FRC, this requirement is not necessary.
  • If the procedure will be completed through a proxy, attach the power of attorney duly granted and attach the documents described in the first four points and the Marriage Certificate, copy of the court order or act of conciliation or public deed proving the marital union or the entity that certifies the union in said country, and in case of Diplomatic or Consular official's spouse, decree of registration in the ranks of the Diplomatic and Consular Career of the Republic, or
  • Attach the documents listed in the first four items and the Birth Certificate where the degree of consanguinity of the foreign applicant with the parent, or the degree of consanguinity with the accredited diplomat in Colombia is shown, and for relatives in the first degree of consanguinity of the diplomat accredited in the country copy of the diplomatic passport/card, or
  • Attach the documents listed in the first four points and under treaties or existing international agreements to which Colombia is party, the following: a) Registration number of an academic center recognized by the Ministry of Education of Colombia, or b) Certificate of start of internship, or c) Invitation letter to give a lecture or provide languages assistance services, or d) a certificate issued by the ICETEX, signed by the competent official stating the awarding of the "Mariano Ospina Perez" scholarship,  or e) Certificate of the entity stating the cultural or academic exchange.
  • Attach the documents required in the first four points and the Diplomatic Passport, or
  • Attach the documents required in the first four points and a certificate from the institution where s/he will be an international jury of master's or doctorate thesis, or
  • Attach the documents required in the first four points and a certificate from the relevant institution to be invited to the processes or strengthening research activities, or as an experienced internationally respected figure invited for the development of projects and programs that promote the transfer of knowledge and new technologies in different disciplines, or
  • Attach the documents required in the first four points and a certificate where the artistic, technical and foreign production staff is accredited in order to carry out the production of foreign films, along with the health insurance with enough coverage for the stay in the national territory.
  • Fill out the visa application electronically through the following link: Visa Application. In the case of artistic, sporting and cultural groups the visa application may be filled out by their representative. Be thorough with the information of each of the group members.

Remember:

  • For your visa to be stamped on your passport, you must submit it to the consulate where your application was completed or to the offices in Bogota. You can enter Colombia presenting the  electronic visa that you received in your email.

Note: If you submit your application on-site, you are not required to bring photographs with you. These will be taken at the dispatching office.

The receipt of the visa study is valid for thirty (30) calendar days, provided your application has been required. If your application has been declared 'non-admissible' and you are interested in starting a new application, you must make a new payment for visa study.

If your application is approved, remember that you have up to fifteen (15) calendar days to make payment of your visa with the same slip you received when paying for the visa study. After this period, the authorization will expire and you must make a new application. Once you have pay for the printing or stamping of the visa, you can go to the Visa Office in Bogota if you are in Colombia.

  • You must make the payment in cash and in Colombian pesos at the GNB Sudameris Bank branch located in the visa office at Av. Cra 19 98-03 3rd in Bogota. Debit or credit cards will not be received.
  • Nationwide Servibanca ATMs Network.
  • Payment through PSE. For this you must have an enabled bank account in Colombia with an online payment option.
     

 

 

There is no charge for the TP-1 visa.
