Description of the Sí Virtual process, the Colombian State Portal:

TP 2: For the alien wishing to enter the country as crewmember or member of an international means of transport or a fishing vessel or dredger.

Requirements:

  • Attach a copy of the personal information page of your current passport where the holder’s personal information is registered.
  • Submit a passport or travel document issued by an Authority or State recognized by the Colombian Government, with a validity of one hundred eighty (180) days, in good condition, with at least two (2) blank pages. Without prejudice to the provisions of treaties and current international instruments, travel documents issued by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations (UN), shall be valid and accepted by the Colombian State.
  • Copy of the passport page which was stamped during the last entry or exit of Colombia as appropriate.
  • For visas previously granted without Fast Reading Code (FRC), attach a copy of the page showing the last Colombian visa. If that visa was granted with FRC, this requirement is not necessary.
  • If the procedure will be completed through a proxy, attach the power of attorney duly granted.
  • Crewmember or member of an international means of transport - Attach the documents listed in the first four points: a) Letter from the legal representative of the company responsible for the international means of transport, stating the activity to develop and its obligation to the Colombian Government to answer for the alien's permanence and departure from the country, b) Certificate of existence and legal representation of the company (attach pages containing the following information: Legal identity, social purpose, legal representatives, capital or shareholding structure, functions of legal representative) in case of foreign company, certification of incorporation or legal representation or similar legal status document, according to the country of origin, c) When you arrive to the country for technical reasons, provide a stay permit  issued by the General Maritime Directorate for sea and river vessels.
  • Fishing vessel crew - Attach the documents listed in the first four points: a) Letter from the legal representative of the company responsible for the international means of transport, stating the activity to develop and its obligation to the Colombian Government to answer for the alien's permanence and departure from the country, b) Certificate of existence and legal representation of the company (attach pages containing the following information: Legal identity, social purpose, legal representatives, capital or shareholding structure, functions of legal representative) in case of foreign company, certification of incorporation or legal representation or similar legal status document, according to the country of origin, c) Letter from the legal representative of the responsible company, stating that you meet the established standards for hiring foreign crew.
  • Dredger- Attach the documents listed in the first four points and: a) Letter from the legal representative of the company responsible for the dredger, stating its obligation to the Colombian Government to answer for the permanence and departure from the country of the aliens in charge of the dredger, b) Certificate of existence and legal representation of the company (attach pages containing the following information: Legal identity, social order, legal representatives, capital or shareholding structure, functions of legal representative) in case of foreign company, certification of incorporation or similar legal status document, according to the country of origin, c) Authorization of the Maritime and Port Directorate for operation.
  • Fill out the visa application electronically through the following link: Visa Application. In the case of artistic, sporting and cultural groups the visa application may be filled out by their representative. Be thorough with the information of each of the group members.

Remember:

  • For your visa to be stamped on your passport, you must submit it to the consulate where your application was completed or to the offices in Bogota. You can enter Colombia presenting the  electronic visa that you received in your email.

Note: If you submit your application on-site, you are not required to bring photographs with you. These will be taken at the dispatching office.

*Issuing TP-2 visa rates and its study will be exempted from charge for members of fishing vessels whose activities are conducted in areas surrounding San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina.
*Visas for nationals of the Republic of Ecuador will be exempted from charge; the fee for its study shall be thirty (30) American Dollars if it´s requested somewhere else in the world and for Europe or Cuba shall be twenty three (23) euros.
* Visas for nationals of Japan and the Republic of Korea will be exempted from charge; the fee for its study shall be that corresponding to the class and category of the visa requested.

The receipt of the visa study is valid for thirty (30) calendar days, provided your application has been required. If your application has been declared 'non-admissible'  and you are interested in starting  a new application, you must make a new payment for visa study.

If your application is approved, remember that you have up to fifteen (15) calendar days to make payment of their visa with the same slip you received when paying for the visa study. After this period, the authorization will expire and you must start a new application. Once you have pay for the printing or stamping of the visa, you can to the Visa Office in Bogota if you are in Colombia.

  • You must make the payment in cash and in Colombian pesos at the Banco GNB Sudameris branch located in the visa office at Av. Cra 19 98-03 3rd in Bogota. Debit or credit cards will not be received.
  • Nationwide Servibanca ATMs Network.
  • Payment through PSE. For this you must have an enabled  bank account in Colombia with an online payment option.
