Description of the Sí Virtual process, the Colombian State Portal:

TP 7: For the alien wishing to enter the country in pursuit of one of the following activities or occupations: As pensioner or annuitant; partner or company owner; to receive medical treatment and alien companion of whom will receive the medical treatment; property owner; for the exercise of trades or independent activities.

Requirements:

  • Attach a copy of the personal data page of your current passport where the holder’s personal information is registered.
  • Submit a passport or travel document issued by an Authority or State recognized by the Colombian Government, with a validity of one hundred eighty (180) days, in good condition, with at least two (2) blank pages.
    Without prejudice to the provisions of treaties and current international instruments, travel documents issued by the Organization of American States (OAS) and the United Nations (UN), shall be valid and accepted by the Colombian State.
  • Copy of the passport page which was stamped during the last entry or departure of Colombia as appropriate.
  • For visas previously granted without Fast Reading Code (FRC), attach a copy of the page showing the last Colombian visa. If that visa was granted with FRC, this requirement is not necessary.
  • If the procedure will be completed through a proxy, attach the power of attorney duly granted.
  • Retired: Attach the documents listed in the first four items and a certificate issued by a competent authority, government, public or private company, or a foreign or Colombian entity, or a diplomatic or consular mission in the country where the alien earned the accredited pension in Colombia, where it is stated that the alien visa applicant receives a monthly pension of no less than three (3) monthly legal minimum wages, or
  • Annuitant: Attach the documents listed in the first four items and a certificate where income issued by public entity, banks, finance companies, social security institutions, insurance companies or any other private company, recognized by the respective government are specified, to pay or remittance income; or the original of the contract in order to verify the amount of income. In both cases, the amount shall not be less than the equivalent of fifteen (15) monthly legal minimum wages, or
  • Partner or company owner: Attach the documents listed in the first four items and a certificate of existence and legal representation issued by a Colombian Chamber of Commerce, within three (3) months prior to the visa application, stating that the alien is a partner or owner of a duly constituted and registered company, indicating the capital or assets registered and paid-owned to the alien visa applicant for not less than one hundred (100) minimum monthly wages (attach pages containing the following information: Legal identity, social purpose, legal representatives, capital or shareholding structure, functions of legal representative), If it is a commercial partnership limited by shares, you shall attach certificates of shareholding signed by the auditor, stating the value of the shares owned by the alien applicant, which shall not be less than one hundred (100) minimum monthly wages, or
  • Medical treatment: Certification issued by a legally authorized medical institution stating the treatment to be done. The companion of the person receiving the medical treatment, must add an application letter signed by the person responsible for the medical treatment, his representative or medical institution that will assist you. The applicant must demonstrate financial solvency or submit a letter of the health care provider or insurance entity where is stated that the living expenses will be properly covered, or
  • Property owner: An statement issued by the Foreign Exchange Department of the Central Bank (Banco de la Republica) stating the registration of foreign direct investment for the purchase of properties on behalf of an alien visa applicant, for an amount greater than three hundred and fifty (350) monthly legal minimum wages and Certificate of Delivery and Unencumbered Property (Certificado de tradicion y libertad) granted by the respective Office of Public Records, issued in advance not before one (1) month in which states that the applicant owns a property in the national territory by a value corresponding to the recorded investment which should not be less than the amount referred to in this paragraph or
  • For the exercise of trades or independent activities: Application letter signed by the applicant indicating the activity to develop in Colombia, along with the C.V. stating his/her experience in the activity to develop in the country and at least two (2)  experience certifications accompanied by bank statements where the bank statement of the last 6 months shows more than fifteen (15) monthly legal minimum wages.
  • In the event that the applicant is a beneficiary of a program or entrepreneurial activity supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, s/he must submit a certificate issued by the Ministry, stating that the alien visa applicant is a beneficiary of a public or private program, to support entrepreneurship recognized by the entity.
  • Fill out the visa application electronically through the following link: Visa Application. In the case of artistic, sporting and cultural groups the visa application may be filled out by their representative. Be thorough with the information of each of the group members.

Remember:

  • For your visa to be stamped on your passport, you must submit it to the consulate where your application was completed or to the offices in Bogota. You can enter Colombia presenting the  electronic visa that you received in your email.

Note: If you submit your application on-site, you are not required to bring photographs with you. These will be taken at the dispatching office.

The receipt of the visa study is valid for thirty (30) calendar days, provided your application has been required. If your application has been declared 'non-admissible'  and you are interested in starting  a new application, you must make a new payment for visa study.

If your application is approved, remember that you have up to fifteen (15) calendar days to pay for your visa with the same slip you received when paying for the visa study. After this period, the authorization will expire and you must make a new application. Once you have pay for the printing or stamping of the visa, you can go to the Visa Office in Bogota if you are in Colombia.

  • You must make the payment in cash and in Colombian pesos at the GNB Sudameris Bank branch located in the visa office at Av. Cra 19 98-03 3rd in Bogota. Debit or credit cards will not be accepted.
  • Nationwide Servibanca ATMs Network
  • Payment through PSE For this you must have an enabled  bank account in Colombia with an online payment option.
