TP-1 Visa Requirements

  • A copy of the main page of the valid passport where the personal data of the holder appear.
  • A copy of the page of the passport that has the last entry to or exit from Colombia stamp, as the case may be.
  • Regarding previous visas granted without the OCR, or QR code, attach a copy of the page that has the last Colombian visa. This requirement shall not be necessary in the event that the visa was granted with the OCR.
  • If the proceeding is to be carried out by a proxy, attach a duly granted power of attorney.
  • Attach the documents described in the first four points as well as the Marriage Certificate, a photocopy of the judicial decision, or of the minutes of conciliation, or of the public deed accrediting the de facto marriage, or the document accrediting it, depending on the country. In the case of the spouse of the diplomatic career officer of the Republic, the decree for the registration in the scale of the Diplomatic or Consular Career of the Republic, or
  • Attach the documents described in the first four points plus the Birth Certificate evidencing the degree of consanguinity of the foreign applicant to his/her relative, or the degree of consanguinity to the diplomatic officer accredited in Colombia; and, for the first-degree relatives of a diplomatic officer accredited in the country, a copy of the diplomatic card, or
  • Attach the documents described in the first four points and, by virtue of the international agreements in force to which Colombia is party, the following: a) Enrolment certificate or certificate from the academic institution acknowledged by the Ministry of Education of Colombia, or b) a Certificate evidencing that the internship will take place, or c) a letter of invitation to give a lecture or to be a language assistant; or d) a certificate issued by ICETEX, signed by the competent officer, evidencing the granting of the “Mariano Ospina Pérez” scholarship, or e) a certificate from the relevant entity evidencing the cultural or academic exchange.
  • Attach the documents described in the first four points and the diplomatic Passport, or
  • Attach the documents described in the first four points and a certificate of the institution where he/she shall be an international juror of a master’s or a doctoral thesis, or
  • Attach the documents described in the first four points and a certificate from the relevant institution inviting him/her to the processes and/or activities aimed at strengthening research, or as a well-known international figure invited as part of the development of projects and programs promoting the transfer of knowledge or new technologies in different disciplines, or
  • Attach the documents described in the first four points and a certificate evidencing that he/she is part of the foreign artistic, technical and production personnel with the purpose of undertaking projects for the production of foreign films, along with a medical service insurance policy for a time period that is at least equivalent to the stay in the national territory.

  • Visa Form, or personally at the issuing office. In the case of artistic, sports and cultural groups, the visa application may be filled out by the representative by including the data of each one of the members of the group.
  • Note: If you apply for your visa personally, you will not need to bring pictures; they will be taken at the issuing office.

Remember:

  • If you apply for your visa personally, your passport must be valid for more than 180 days and must have two blank pages.
  • If you requested your electronic visa for more than one (1) month, you must bring your passport to the offices in Bogotá. It must be valid for more than 180 days and it should have two blank pages for the visa to be stamped.
